Late hours are the reason people end up on St James Street: on Friday and Saturday the doors stay open until 4 AM, well past the city's 2 AM bar close, and Thursday and Sunday sessions start just before midnight. Inside, three levels split the night into separate rooms: a main floor under moving beams, mirror balls and chandeliers, a hip-hop room, white lounge booths, and a light-up runway stage used for drag shows and theme parties. The crowd is mixed and largely LGBTQ+, and it fills up after other bars close. Google puts typical spend at $30 to $40 a head, much of it cover. Reviews are the caution here: the average is 2.9 from more than 500, with repeated complaints about aggressive door staff, entry refused without explanation and phones stolen on the dance floor. Keeping a phone zipped away and carrying a standard driver's license are worth doing before joining the queue.
