About Vetri Cucina
The ground floor of a historic townhouse holds only about nine tables, with wide-plank floors, warm plaster walls, a red glass chandelier and a shelved back wall, and the point is to forget the city for a few hours. There is one menu, the Quattro Piatti: four seasonal courses with pasta at the center, drawing on classic Italian recipes, and dishes such as the spinach gnocchi, the sweet onion crepe and the molten pistachio cake keep reappearing in reviews. Wine and beer pairings are offered, led by a sommelier. Dinner is served every night from 5pm to 9pm. Reviews, 4.8 from more than 860, describe attentive, detail-minded service, and several guests say the team went well past what was needed to fix a small slip. Couples marking anniversaries and birthdays make up much of the room, and dressing up suits the setting.
