About Bok Bar
Picnic tables and café chairs fill the eighth-floor roof of the Bok building, a 1930s vocational high school now given over to studios and workshops, and the view takes in the South Philly rowhouse grid with the Center City towers on the horizon. Getting up there is part of the outing, through the old school corridors, and reviewers admit the route is a little tricky. The bar runs through the warmer months, Wednesday to Sunday, from 5pm on weeknights and 2pm at weekends, closing at midnight on Friday and Saturday. Cans of beer cost around $8, tacos $17 for two and cocktails $15, although one regular complained those come pre-batched in small plastic cups. The soundtrack gets mixed notices and the door staff one sharp one, but a 4.5 from more than 1,100 Google reviews rests on the sunsets and easygoing prices.
