About Butcher and Singer
Low lights, dark carved wood, red-shaded table lamps and crystal chandeliers set the tone in a room designed as a tribute to post-Prohibition glamour, with jazz on the sound system and bartenders stirring Manhattans and sidecars. Steaks are the reason to come: filet, Delmonico, porterhouse and bone-in ribeye, alongside a raw bar, oysters Rockefeller, crab cakes, shrimp and crab Louie and escargot. The stuffed hash browns and creamed spinach are the sides regulars insist on, and the Baked Alaska and butter cake close most meals. Dinner runs daily from 5pm to 10pm, until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and walk-ins can sometimes still get a table. It holds 4.6 stars from nearly 2,500 Google reviews, with servers praised by name; one solo diner felt overlooked, and hosts can be slow to seat at busy times. Dress to match the room.
