About Provenance
Behind a brick townhouse front on South 2nd Street, dinner is one long tasting menu of 20 to 25 small dishes grouped into four courses, rooted in classical French seafood cooking with Korean touches. Recent meals featured uni, fluke with caviar, tuna smoked over local hay, milk bread and a Wagyu short rib served with jajangmyeon and bone broth on the side, then tomato or corn ice cream. The kitchen sits open behind a dark stone counter of about eleven seats, the prized spot for watching the cooks work. Allow two and a half hours, and give a week's notice for allergies. Service runs Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm. Reviewers mention a call ahead to ask about celebrations, a Polaroid and printed menu to take home, a relaxed dress code and wine, temperance and coffee pairings. The Michelin star arrived in 2025, and the Google average is 4.8.
