About The 700
For more than 25 years this has been the neighborhood bar at the gateway to Northern Liberties, and it still works on two levels. Downstairs is a long room trimmed with stained glass, with a deep beer list, cheap cocktails and big screens that make it a home for soccer supporters on match days, plus a sidewalk patio with picnic tables under a timber pergola. Upstairs @ The 700 is a separate space of mismatched sofas, color-washed walls and a lighting rig, set up to feel like a house party, with karaoke, local comedy and dancing filling it most nights. Hours run from 3:30 PM on weekdays and 2 PM at weekends until 2 AM, and the upstairs room peaks late on Friday and Saturday. The bar is Black-owned and women-owned. Google gives it 4.4 across nearly 400 reviews, praising fast service and cold beer; one recent complaint describes a dismissive bartender.
