About Bank & Bourbon
The Loews Philadelphia occupies the 1930s PSFS skyscraper, and its ground-floor bar takes its name from that banking past. The look is contemporary: a glass corner on Market Street, dark timber tables under drum pendants and a tall back bar lined with bottles and oak barrels. Bourbon is the specialty. The list is long, the bar ages spirits and cocktails in its own barrels, and events such as Bourbon Bash turn the room into a tasting. The kitchen covers breakfast and lunch on weekdays and a steakhouse-leaning dinner from 5 to 10 PM every night: tuna tartare, grilled octopus, steak au poivre, a short-rib sandwich and cheese and charcuterie boards. Separate zones, from the lively bar to a casual counter and softer lounge seating, suit different moods. Google reviewers give it 4.3 from more than 900 reviews and name bartenders and servers individually; the sharpest complaint comes from a private party whose bar closed earlier than agreed.
