About Vesper
Sage-green walls, a live-edge wooden bar, mustard and pink velvet sofas and bold canvases give the room a lived-in lounge feel, and tables spill onto the Garrett Street sidewalk. The pitch is simple: neighborhood bar, tapas and friends. Charcuterie boards, flatbreads, tacos, loaded tots and dips cover the food, and board games come out on slower evenings. Cocktails run strong and spirit-forward, which suits some and not others; one recent guest was served a shaken, watery Manhattan for $19, and another called the drinks poorly thought out, while regulars describe friendly bartenders and a relaxed room. The playlist leans on rap, sometimes awkwardly edited on the fly. Hours are 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with Monday closed. It suits a casual drink between stops more than a destination night.
