About Lore
Oversized mirror balls hang above both the bar and the dance floor at Lore, a queer club on the Edgewood Avenue strip that the owners bill as a place for dancing, drag and community. The back bar glows red with rows of lit bottles, a stage with a screen hosts shows such as the Friday Other Show, and a string-lit patio gives smokers and talkers somewhere to go. Drag is the big draw, with regulars returning weekly, while karaoke and themed dance parties, pop and house-driven, fill the other nights. It opens at 7pm Tuesday to Saturday, closing at 2am midweek and 3am on weekends, with Sunday running from 11am to midnight; Monday is dark. THICC Burgers runs the kitchen, and the heavily salted fries have fans. Google rates it 4.7 from about 185 reviews. The door checks ID strictly, and several recent reviewers with out-of-state or young-looking licences say they were refused.
