About Avize
A taxidermy mountain goat perched above the banquettes, fir greenery and a sleek curved bar lit by table lamps give the room an Alpine-lodge mood with a modern finish. The kitchen draws on French, German, Austrian and Italian mountain cooking: venison tartare, trout cru, frog legs, smoked duck, flammkuchen, charred cabbage and pretzel rolls, with an amuse bouche to start and a choice between a coursed menu and à la carte. Newly recommended by Michelin in 2025, it holds a 4.6 average from about 220 Google reviews, but recent reviews are mixed: warm, knowledgeable servers win praise, while complaints cite half-empty dining rooms, undercooked fish, a silent sommelier and a live-music event that overwhelmed one birthday dinner. Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday from five, until eleven on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are taken through its own website, and the price reflects the fine-dining ambition.
