About The Alley Bar

The entrance is easy to miss, an unmarked door partway down the alley past a Dunkin', and the room inside reads as a sports bar: long wooden counter, a wall of screens, rainbow flags and a pool table at the back. It opens every day from 2 PM to 2 AM. The core crowd is the bear community, with Dyke Night on the fourth Wednesday of the month drawing lesbians, and weekend nights bring pop, house and dance remixes to a small floor. Bartenders infuse pineapple rum in-house and the cocktails get strong reviews; food has recently been added, with pub plates that regulars call better than expected. Prices sit around $20–30 a head. One recent visitor reported a doorman questioning guests at length on the way in. Google rates it 4.0 from about 340 reviews.
