About Empire
Dark lacquer, carved screens, a long lantern-lit bar and a glass-cased garden of stone lanterns give the dining room a grand, theatrical feel on Marina Park Drive. Dinner starts at 5 PM nightly, with sushi rolls, sashimi, noodle dishes and showpiece cocktails served in pineapples and watermelons, and an unlimited-sushi deal on the menu. On Thursdays service runs until 1 AM, and on Fridays and Saturdays until 2 AM, when the music turns up and a live percussionist plays alongside the sets. Google lists spend at $30–50 a head, and champagne bottles and a private dining room are both available. Reviewers praise the Saturday energy and the sushi specials, but warn of abrupt closing-time clear-outs, a single-bill policy for large groups and unexpected gratuity charges. The rating is 4.2 from more than 2,000 reviews.
