About Alibi

The Liberty Hotel was built into the old Charles Street Jail, and this lounge occupies what was its drunk tank, keeping the exposed brick, arched barred windows and a gallery of celebrity mugshots, Sinatra among them. Red banquettes and low lighting fill the inside rooms, while the hedged patio outside, marked by a neon script sign, is dressed for the season with heaters, lit trees and themed pop-ups such as an autumn pumpkin patch. Espresso martinis come in several versions, and bartenders take requests built around a theme; one is known for singing between orders. Food runs to bar plates like bacon-wrapped scallops, calamari and flatbreads. Google puts it in the $20 to $60 band with 4.3 from about 940 reviews. Hours run 4pm to 1am Monday to Wednesday, to 2am Thursday to Saturday and to 11pm on Sunday, with valet parking through the hotel. The main complaint is thin staffing during private events.
