About Stratus

Fifty-one floors up the Prudential Tower, the View Boston bar is a white, mirrored room whose glass wall folds back onto a timber deck, with the Back Bay grid, the Charles River and Cambridge laid out below. The cocktail list is short and named for local streets and squares — Commonwealth Ave, Newbury Street, Tremont Street, Harvard Square — alongside a few beers, wines and snacks. Reviewers rate the drinks and the bartenders more warmly than the portions, which run small and pricey. Most guests arrive on an observatory visit, so the crowd leans heavily towards visitors and the music stays at background lounge level. The View Boston site lists the bar as open daily from 3 to 10pm. In winter the room is dressed with white trees and a ticketed holiday bar, which drew sharp complaints in December 2025 about queues and a $55 entry. Casual dress is fine; go at dusk for the lights.
