About Carrie Nation Cocktail Club
Named after the hatchet-wielding temperance campaigner, this Beacon Street club plays the Prohibition theme straight: a front bar with tap towers and globe lamps, a checkerboard corridor lined with period photographs, a red-felt pool table, and a back lounge with a small stage where live jazz plays on weekend nights. That lounge is reserved for guests ordering food, a rule one reviewer only discovered at the host stand. The kitchen covers burgers, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and oysters, and afternoon tea has its own following. Hours are unusually long, from 11am to 2am on weekdays, 4pm to 2am on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, which makes it a regular pick for office parties from nearby Government Center. With 920 Google reviews it holds 4.2, the lower scores mostly about uneven bar service rather than the room. Time Out placed it 18th among Boston bars in 2026.
