About Ayahuasca Cantina
Attached to Xaman Café on West Jefferson Boulevard, the cantina is dark and candlelit, with a brick backbar of agave bottles, dried flowers, clay vessels and framed prints. The drinks centre on mezcal, tequila and fermented preparations, with the Curada de Aloe earning a specific shout-out, and some arrive flaming in carved clay cups. Staff scent the room as the evening progresses, and one server summed it up as a place for all the senses. The food is a serious part of the visit: bone marrow, empanadas, rolled tacos in mole, flan and a churro dessert. Hours are 5pm to midnight Tuesday through Saturday. With a 4.7 rating from around 70 Google reviews it is still little known; one guest who ordered the whole menu called it among the best meals of their time in Dallas and wondered why the room was empty on a Thursday.
