About Atlas Bishop Arts

Chandeliers, dark patterned wallpaper, a curved bar, red leather banquettes and a fireplace lounge of velvet armchairs give the room its gothic, Edgar Allan Poe look. The concept is travel by glass: each cocktail on the list nods to a different culture, and the kitchen backs it with pretzel bites, loaded fries, tacos and even pho. A separate speakeasy, The Library, operates within. Hours are 4pm to 2am on weekdays and noon to 2am at weekends, with party music taking over later at night. On busy nights waits of 45 minutes are reported, and a dress code is enforced at the door without being posted online, a recurring frustration. Google rates it 4.5 from about 480 reviews; the atmosphere and the bartenders' craft win most guests over, while some recent visits describe curt service and a strict no-photoshoot policy.
