About Tribe
The earlier, chattier half of Church Street's LGBTQ+ pair, with Play next door taking over once the night turns to serious dancing. The room runs long under strings of disco balls and coloured lights, with music videos on the screens, a pool table, a backlit bar and a dance floor that fills as the evening goes on. It opens at 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday and at noon from Friday to Sunday, closing at 1am or 2am. Theme nights carry the calendar: drag shows, SINGO music bingo, trivia and a well-known Showtunes Sunday. It is also the check-in point for the Big Drag Party Bus, so bachelorette groups pass through for a drink before and midway through the tour. Google rates it 4.3 from about 190 reviews, with bartenders singled out by name and the buy-one-get-one well drinks praised; the complaints are music too loud for conversation and, from one group of women, a cool reception. Pub food is served only at certain hours.
