About Locust
Only Friday, Saturday and Sunday are on the calendar, with a lunch sitting from noon to 3pm and dinner from 6pm to 9pm, and reservations are required for both. The room is pale wood, calm and plain, with an open kitchen and shelves of wine by the dining tables, which keeps the attention on the plates. The chef's tasting menu, recently quoted at $140 a person before an optional caviar course, runs about two hours and is now served at lunch too. Dumplings, beef tartare, potato bread, scallops and Wagyu come up again and again in reviews, and the shaved-ice dessert is the dish that splits opinion, called the best dessert ever by some and the one miss by others. Staff explain each course and how to eat it, and a guest who brought a bottle had it served at the right temperature. A 4.7 from over 400 Google reviews and a Michelin star make it one of the city's most sought-after bookings.
