About Ibiza Lounge
Out on Edmondson Pike, well away from downtown, the city's best-known room for Latin dancing has a floor big enough to prove it. Evenings often begin with a social-dance slot, and one Havana Night opened with a Cuban salsa class and free entry until 9pm before running through salsa, bachata, casino rueda and timba; after about 10pm the music turns to reggaeton. Other nights bring live norteño bands and the occasional Bollywood party. White tufted booths ring the floor for bottle service and hookahs, and security staff work both the door and the room, which reviewers repeatedly cite as a reason they feel safe. Doors open at 5pm Thursday through Sunday and close at 3am. Google gives it 3.9 from 163 reviews: dancers praise the music and the skill on the floor, while the complaints concern steep bottle prices, a sticky floor that makes spins hard and the heat once the room fills.
