About Attaboy
A mint-green cinderblock building on McFerrin Avenue gives little away beyond a cocktail glass painted on the wall. Inside, a long, low-lit bar runs under an arched ceiling stacked with bottles, with a couple of snug booth rooms tucked off the back. There is no printed list: bartenders ask which spirits and flavors a guest is in the mood for and mix to order, and reviewers keep coming back to the ice-cold martinis and the tiki-style serves in novelty glassware. Reservations are not taken, so Friday and Saturday bring waits of half an hour or more at the door, while early Sunday evenings are the easiest time to walk straight in. Doors open at five nightly, an hour earlier on Fridays and Saturdays, and last call is 2am. Prices are considered fair for the craft involved, and a 4.6 rating across more than 1,000 Google reviews makes it one of the most consistent bars in the city.
