About Azul Rooftop
Twenty floors above East Fifth Street, the Westin's rooftop splits into a pool deck, fire-pit lounges and an open bar under a timber pergola, with the Frost Bank Tower and the downtown high-rises close enough to feel level with the terrace. By day the pool draws hotel guests and sunbathers; after sunset the space turns into a skyline cocktail lounge, busiest on Friday and Saturday when the bar stays open until midnight. Other nights it closes at ten. Frozen drinks, bright cocktails, local beer and a short menu of tacos and bar snacks keep spending moderate, and one recent review put four drinks and an appetizer at about fifty dollars. The soundtrack is easy lounge house. Google reviewers give it 4.7 across nearly 1,300 reviews, praising the bartenders by name and the view, with the usual caveat that summer afternoons are fierce up here. Casual chic suits the door.
