About Sepia
Since 2007 this Jefferson Street restaurant has married old Chicago warmth with modern cooking: exposed original brick, tile and dark wood, drum chandeliers and a marble-topped bar lit by vintage lamps. Chef Kyle Cottle's seasonal New American menu comes as a four-course prix fixe or a longer chef's tasting of around eight courses, with duck, short rib, steak tartare, crudo and foie gras among the dishes reviewers name, and warm brioche rolls that people remember long afterward. Wine pairings and an unusually wide non-alcoholic pairing sit beside cocktails such as Gin in My System. Dinner runs Monday to Thursday from 5 to 9 PM and until 10 on Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday. The restaurant has held its Michelin star for 15 consecutive years and draws anniversary couples and visitors on a first Michelin meal. The rating is 4.6 from 1,578 Google reviews; the odd complaint concerns small four-course portions and spice-heavy plates.
