About Next
Each run here is a new restaurant in all but address. Grant Achatz's team rewrites the concept every few months, and recent seasons have included a 1987 Wall Street dinner, handed out with a mock newspaper of period Manhattan restaurant reviews explaining where each course came from, and a fashion-themed menu this September. Earlier runs, including a tenth-anniversary retrospective and a menu with Massimo Bottura, still come up in reviews. Dinners run to ten or twelve small, intricate courses, and reviewers put the cost at $175 to $250 per person before the wine pairing most tables add. Seats are sold as prepaid tickets on Tock, Wednesday to Sunday from 5 to 10 PM, in a dark dining room of round, linen-covered tables facing the open kitchen. It holds a Michelin star within the Alinea Group. The rating sits at 4.6 from 659 Google reviews; the dissent is that portions are tiny and the concept can outshine the cooking.
