About Bruno
The entrance is a door marked Employees Only, and regulars say the search is half the fun. Behind it, a curved wooden bar under a dark green ceiling and red-lit shelves seats a small crowd, which keeps the room intimate and fills it quickly. The cocktail list borrows flavors from travel, with a Vietnamese-coffee drink named for Hanoi, a chocolate-and-chili number and a Hokkaido melon creation among the favorites, and bartenders make off-menu drinks readily. Espresso martinis are a strength. The kitchen sends out late bar bites and a tempura ramen that reviewers name. Hours are six to eleven on Wednesday and Thursday and six until half past midnight on Friday and Saturday; it is closed Sunday to Tuesday. Early reviews are near-perfect, 4.9 stars from 54, with one guest comparing the bartending to the best of New York.
