About Bar à Vins
Wire-grid racks holding hundreds of bottles cover the back wall, pendant globes hang over a dark stone bar, and a front room doubles as a bottle shop with open shelving and a cooler of cold whites. The list focuses on organic and biodynamic wines from around the world, with none from North Carolina, and staff are praised for steering guests to something new by the glass. Food is kept to snacks built for wine: cured meats, cheeses, olives, tinned fish and caviar served with potato chips. A back patio exists, but reviewers prefer the room inside, where one found the music too loud for conversation. It closes earlier than most of NoDa, at ten Tuesday to Saturday and eight on Sunday, opening at four midweek and at one from Friday, which makes it a natural first stop before dinner. It is closed Monday, prices are called fair, and it holds 4.6 stars on Google.
