About Quill
Off the lobby of the Jefferson, a compact room of dark panelling, framed maps and prints, round tables and a small backlit bar opens onto a garden terrace. Live piano sets the evening tone, and the mood is closer to a private club than a hotel lobby, though it gets loud when full and one guest complained of a crowd acting more nightclub than lounge. Food is a strength: caviar deviled eggs served in threes, the Jefferson burger, Bolognese, salmon, mac and cheese and flatbread, alongside martinis and classic cocktails. It is open daily from 11:30am to midnight. Space is the constraint, with small tables and groups sometimes ending up on bar stools, and a few reviews found the martinis warmer than they should be at the price. Regulars call it their quiet escape after work. Google rates it 4.7 from about 270 reviews, at $30–70 a head.
